CSCS is owned and managed by CSCS Limited, controlled by a management board whose members are from The Construction Confederation, Federation of Master Builders, GMB Trade Union, National Specialist Contractors Council, Transport and General Workers Union and Union of Construction Allied Trades and Technicians.

The CSCS Card was developed to enhance the quality of work on construction sites, to reduce the number of accidents and to encourage construction companies to only use skilled trades people.
The scheme allows for the industry to have a record of skilled and competent workers, which will raise the standard of health and safety awareness within the industry.

Many Companies are demanding the card on their construction sites and main contractors are not employing trades people or operatives without the card.

If you hold a CSCS card, you have proof that your up to the job. The card lists the occupations that you are skilled in and shows that you are aware of health and safety issues, having passed the Health and Safety Test. It's an achievement that you can be proud of.
